The impact of new technologies on education

In retrospect, it is more than obvious how teaching has developed in recent decades. Before this wave of digital revolution completely flooded our classrooms, the lives of students and teachers revolved around the pen, pencil, paper, and books. Technology is increasingly driving education, and traditional forms of learning are being replaced by more interactive and dynamic learning environments.

There is no doubt about the bearing of new technologies on education, which have broken the stereotypes of the concept of the educational and pedagogical process. They forced teachers to change their routines, from communicating with students through presentation or evaluation of information to teaching strategies. They offer a great opportunity to adapt methodologies and activities, as well as create new content with them, and suggest different ways of delivering content to the class. This makes learning easier for all students and thus adapts to the diversity that exists in classrooms.

New technologies should be presented as tools to support and develop knowledge, skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. It is very important that learners can use them critically and constructively. Today, students are bombarded with information over the Internet. Education in the 21st century will consume to deal with the advantages and disadvantages, potential dangers of new technologies, while not forgetting that they should be used whenever they help students become better, without becoming their slaves. ...

They can never be an end themselves. They, like many others, are the tools that must be used to design an optimal teaching and learning process. We must not be aware of the massive use of applications that have not been designed, prepared, or adapted to student characteristics.

New technologies must also serve society, and, above all, they must be mastered and used to acquire the basic skills necessary for development in the modern world. When thinking about the actions that new technologies allow us, many ideas come to mind. They allow us to observe, manipulate, recognize other realities that are not on paper, see them in motion, and even, using 3D technologies, be able to touch them.

It is a fact that new technologies provide education and society with flexibility and adaptation to the ever-changing conditions of society. A society that depends on a technological approach that helps it build and acquire knowledge. New technologies as tools added to pedagogical models can be valuable resources for learning, allowing students to be trained in appropriate personal and professional skills for their future.
